What's going on with membership?

New member options, old issues.

The Recipe Swap has been around for a LONG time.

When we first started, we had two corporate sponsors.  This was my small, software company and a client who was a retailer in the kitchen appliances industry.  These sponsors foot the bill for all of the custom programming, hosting, maintenance and upkeep.  Our core members of the Recipe Swap, had some very specific requirements for how they wanted the Recipe Swap to look, feel and function.  The development team included myself, two professional designers and two skilled programmers, who made this happen over several months of effort.  We were fortunate to maintain this sponsorship relationship through 2008.

Swap TIME Fix

Fixing the time settings for your account in the Recipe Swap

Like many websites, users from different parts of the world and even just in North America, are reading and participating in the Recipe Swap from various time zones.  So if I make a post in the Recipe Swap at 7:42 pm PST, if my post diplays in that fashion "7:42 pm PST" does a user in say Italy, want to do the math to figure out when it was posted relative to their time of day?  Wouldn't it be better

Why I talk to myself on Twitter

Why I talk to myself on Twitter

It was in the second week of July in the Year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Thirteen, that we made the ground-breaking, massive redesign of the Eat.at Facebook page.  This step in the evolution of what we today fondly refer to as our Eat.at Social Marketing (SMO), and Social Brand Identity (SBI) and LMPSOAOOMA efforts, was widely recognized as a paradigmatic shift in the way that underused, neglected and otherwise wayward Facebook pages are redesigned.

Better, Stronger, Faster

Here's the good news: Eat.at has been powered up.

Yes we are now the Bionic Man of websites! It has been a busy couple of weeks for eat.at. The site is now running on more powerful processors, more RAM and that kind of technology, good stuff. We've successfully migrated to a new data center on a new network. The transition was smooth and without incident and there was no data loss. It is not uncommon during these types of transitions for at least minor data loss to occur, such as the latest forum posts being lost. The formal switchover occurred in the evening hours (in the Americas) so many of you probably never noticed a thing. But hopefully you've noticed an improvement in how quickly the site loads and the quick transitions when clicking posts in the Recipe Swap.
