pieces of carrot cake wrapped up on porcelain saucers (I bought a few of them - not only the best-tasting carrot cake I've ever had in my life, but I have some cute saucers too). Whoopie pies (to my surprise), Rice Krispie treats, chocolate-covered pretzel sticks, and anise cookies were also poor sellers.

These weren't mine, but the way! But one year I took cookie-pops on a stick and the next year I took brownie "eye"balls dipped in white chocolate decorated with a brown M&M and red gel "blood vessels" (Halloween theme) and neither really went over very well.

The next year I took tin foil as my contribution! Red-velvet cake was also a disappointment... people said "It's RED inside?" and kept walking.

I guess it depends what people want at the time, and what they're used to. Brownies and cookies are so plentiful, we usually get stuck with those too. Sigh...

How did the fool *get* his money?!
