Yes, that was something new! Next time I would use a 9" or 8-1/2" pan -- the 9-1/2"

made the shortbread just a bit too thin for my taste (about 1/2" thick).

Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies!
