clip it onto the larger pans. It was exactly to 212 deg. in boiling water, so I didn't have to worry about it being off even a degree!
I made the torrone (which I thought was really fabulous), but my Italian friend said it is far from being the right consistency... she said it should be "pull-out-your-fillings-taffy-like", and it wss more like fudge. I like it just the way it is, so she'll just have to buy her own torrone :)
Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies!
