Yesterday I was at a local Freihoffer outlet - home-style bakery items - dozens of types of bread, all good. The woman ahead of me bought $50 worth of stuff, so was awarded a $5-off ticket for her next visit. Saying she never shops there (or almost never!), she handed it to me and so it covered all of my entire order.

Twice now, the squirrels have gotten into cornbread English muffins that I bought from there (in garage), so I'm thinking maybe I won't ever get to try them! Looks like another trip out there later on this week.

At the farmer's market I bought figs and kale. 'Hope I can use it before it turns yellow. It's something I don't think to make very often.

It poured all weekend, so I didn't get to do some outdoor work that I needed to do. Oh well.

Tonight just the two of us went out for Sunday lunch/dinner - just Cracker Barrel - and on the way to pay, were told our check was comp'ed (by who?). Hmmm... makes you wonder... "Do we have too-casual clothes on, or is someone just being particularly nice?!". 'Not sure who or why, but I've heard of people doing random acts like this... 'will have to do something similar in the near future.

Making scalloped potatoes with ham tomorrow. That's it - not much of an exciting cooking weekend. Still have a lot of apples, so maybe something along the lines of sauerkraut, apples, and pork for another night. Fall is in the air, and I feel like making comfort food.

How did the fool *get* his money?!
