My first meal ever in Paris was Alsatian "Choucroute" with sausages, smoked pork, etc. (I think Parisians eat more sauerkraut than Germans--there's an Alsatian brasserie in every neighborhood. It's just about Jacques' favorite dish.) I've never been able to duplicate it but this came very very close. I'll get more experimental with the sausages and other products they offer. I've never lived more than 15 minutes away from Alpine Village. Oh, the wasted years!
