Spiced Pecans
1 pound pecans
1/2 cup sugar (I cut to 1/4 cup)
2 1/2 Tablespoons corn oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayennepepper
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Preheat oven to 325.
Blanch nuts for 1 minute and drain. Toss with
sugar and oil and let stand for 10 minutes.
Bake nuts in one layer for 30-35 minutes,
turning every five minutes. When brown and
crispy, toss with seasonings. Cool in one
layer and store in airtight container.
