Gastropub around here boils down to: a bar that serves very decent to good food. . .

around here it is fancy burgers and such, upscale stuff, with many beers, mixed drinks and some regular steaks and such. You are served, but it is for sure more casual and usually cheaper than a place that promotes itself as a restaurant that serves alcoholic beverages.

Though--sometimes NOT cheaper. I just caught a "gastropub" in a search that is a short drive from where we live. Looked at the menu. Three burgers listed for $19, $22 & $24. This seems just a leetle bit high to me, who dines in the land of 9-12$ burgers in a bar/grill type place. . . . Pretty crazy.

I guess gastropub is a more upscale name for a "bar and grill". . .
