it in NO WAY tastes like silky, luscious, custardy Crème Brûlée.
The other good news is I prepped half the recipe which made three servings (rather than two), thereby reducing the calories to HALF the amount of one serving of silky, luscious, custardy Crème Brûlée.
The other, other good news is that it tastes like a high-quality, ever-so-slightly gritty, vanilla yogurt. You know, the flavor profile you always THINK you're going to taste when you buy one that says "vanilla yogurt" but that NEVER lives up to your expectations.
This one does.
It does NOT, however, live up to CI's silky, luscious, custardy Crème Brûlée.
RESULT: I cannot recommend this as a substitute for Crème Brûlée, but will defend it as very good vanilla yogurt.
PS: ...and to be honest, the Brûlée part--as much as it ramps of the drama--simply added unwanted sweetness (although I loved breaking through that crust).
